Guess it's not a mole like Daddy's :(

Well, it looks like my "beauty mark" that Daddy was so excited about (see the previous entry) wasn't one after all, as it has since disappeared. It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to being just like Daddy!

And Daddy had to admit that Mommy was right!

Am I Daddy's girl or what?

Today Daddy found a striking resemblance between us. He is so excited! He claims to have found a mole under my right eye. He, of course, has one under his left eye. He explained the difference as being due to genetics - I'm a girl, so obviously it would be on the opposite side! Sounds good to me, Daddy's so smart.

Mommy thinks it's just a pimple that I scratched at. She's no fun! Judge for yourself:

Half-rolled over again!

I did it again! This morning Daddy put me down on my back, and a few minutes later found me on my side. This time I was all swaddled up, so it must have been a little more difficult than before!

10 pounds today!

I keep growing, today Daddy weighed me in at just over 10 pounds. That's 2 pounds 4 ounces in 5 weeks!

Today Grandma Stoller came from Phoenix to visit for a few days. She is very much enjoying me and visiting Mommy and Daddy in Oklahoma. She'll be here until Wednesday night!

First road trip to Grandma and Grandpa Roslewski

We took a long drive today (about 2 hours each way) to visit Grandma and Grandpa Roslewski up in Owasso, Oklahoma. It was good for Mommy and Daddy (but especially Mommy) to gt out of the house for a while. It was my first trip of this length, and I did pretty well, only needing to stop once on the way up and not at all on the way back.

Grandma and Grandpa sure do love lavishing attention on me! I got to meet their dog, Shadow, too. Shadow was very nice and didn't mind me at all.

They also bought me a really cool new toy! I'm a little young to use it now, but Daddy thought it looked like a lot of fun too. It's a Mickey Mouse airplane with real engine sounds and blinking lights and music! Somehow I think Grandma bought it more for Daddy than for me! Here's what Daddy has to say about it:
"It appears to be a tri-motor design, reminiscent of the familiar Ford Tri-Motor of the 1920's and 30's. However, it is unusual in that the outboard propellers are significantly smaller than those of the center engine, suggesting a commensurately smaller engine size on the wings. Instrumentation consists of some basic Visual Flight Rules components - altimeter, compass, and artificial horizon. Seems to be without an airspeed indicator. Also of note is the unusual landing gear configuration, a fixed-gear, four wheel system that has only seen use in the occasional "flying car" designs of the 1950's and 60's. However, in spite of the unusual design, the airplane has all the basic components (engine, propeller, wings, horizontal and vertical stabilizers), and I see nothing preventing a successful first flight once the pilot is properly trained and qualified in such multi-engine aircraft."

I'm still trying to figure out Grandpa!

I half rolled-over!

Daddy claims he put me on my back today, but when he next looked at me, I was laying on my side! Well, that counts as a half-rollover, so I'm progressing right along.

The Anonymous Gift

Today I received a wonderful package full of "froggy-themed" items like onsies, a receiving blanket, bib, hat, burp cloth and more. Unfortunately, the person or people who sent these wonderful gifts didn't include any names or addresses. (It had been sent through Pro Flowers, who wouldn't release the sender's personal information. The company tried calling the sender, but the phone number listed had been disconnected.) So I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for your thoughtfullness.

My first fireworks celebration

Tonight we went to the Buck Thomas Memorial Park in Moore for my first fireworks show! But first, Mommy thought it would be a great idea to stop for ice cream. So we ate at the Marble Slab Creamery on our way. Mommy and Daddy both saw me smile when Mommy said the words "ice cream". Mommy thinks this was my first smile, but Daddy thinks it was on June 18th.

To watch the fireworks, I wore my best patriotic outfit. The fireworks were a little scary, and some of the louder ones startled me. But it was a fun night and we got out of the house for a few hours! Look at how patriotic we are!

Started my flight training today!

Today was a great day! Mommy suggested to Daddy that I might want to begin my flight training today. (That's Daddy's story anyway, I think Mommy just wanted some cute pictures of the little and big Pipers.) But it was fun anyway.

I got to sit in the plane while Daddy explained some of the gauges to me. That's the attitude indicator he's pointing to.

Then I got to handle the controls!

Outgrowing my clothes already!

Today Mommy and Daddy realized that my "newborn" clothes were a little snug. So it's on to "Infant 0-3 month" clothes for me! Daddy says I'm growing really fast and am such a big girl already. In fact, he was wondering how much I weighed now, since I've been eating a lot. So he weighed me on his postal scale. 8 pounds 11 ounces!

I still have a little trouble focusing my eyes, but I'm starting to reach out and touch things. I still hiccup a lot. Hopefully that will go away soon. I've been trying to be good and usually only cry when I'm hungry (or when I'm really soiled). But when I'm not, I give Mommy and Daddy the cutest, big-eyed look I can!
