Young's Jersey Dairy

There is a neat dairy farm near our house that has lots of fun activities for us to do.  We went there for the first time today and will definitely be going back.  They have a restaurant (with yummy ice cream), a petting zoo, a kids' play area with a bouncy-bounce, haybale climbing and slides, miniature golf, a tricycle track, old tractors to play on, and lots of fun stuff.  We were there for several hours and I had a ball.

These goats sure looked hungry for the the food in my hand.  They gobbled it all up super fast!

The petting zoo had lot of different animals, including baby cows, more goats, and even chickens!

Once I saw they had a bouncy-bounce with a slide, I didn't need any encouragement!

Mommy, look at all these cows!

We played miniature golf too.  The last time I played was last last July in Wisconsin when we visited Mommy.  Daddy tried to show me the proper form for putting, but I kept forgetting!

Daddy saw me having so much fun on this tricycle racetrack, that once there were no other kids on it, he tried to race me.  I won easily!  (Especially since he didn't really fit!)

So I decided to give Daddy a little help.

I liked driving the big tractors!

We had so much fun, we will definitely be back again soon.

Flying a kite

Daddy had a surprise for me today.  Since we lost our other kite a few weeks ago (and it is still stuck way up in the trees where we can see it), he bought me a new kite that he knew I'd like - a big Mommy turtle with lot of baby turtles for its tail!  I couldn't wait to go fly it, and today was a nice windy day.

I helped him get it all ready.

I wanted to fly it all by myself.  Daddy helped get it up in the air, until I thought it was high enough and told him so!  From then on I was flying it all by myself.  A few times it headed over toward our tree, but I quickly yelled "Get away from the tree!" and sometimes it seemed to listen!

Easter dinner and party!

Mommy thought it would be fun to have some friends over for Easter dinner a day early, and I thought so too!  So Zoe (7) and Mia (4) and their mommy, Tori (7) and Alex (3) and their mommy and daddy came over.  There were five of us kids in the house running around squealing having a great time! We were being super silly but sure having fun.  Here I am trying to scare Daddy with a dinosaur "ROAR" while Tori and Mia play the piano.

After some play, we all got to dye eggs.  I had done this two weeks ago at Lluc's birthday party, so I was definitely ready to do it again.  (Clockwise from left - Tori, me, Mia, Zoe, Alex.)

Later, while we were busy playing, Mommy went down to the basement and hid a bunch of plastic eggs.  They had treats in them too!  When she called us down, we were all excited and walked as fast as we could down the stairs (no running on the stairs)!

I found one!

I found a lot!

We had a great time and even ate some dinner.  But most of all, it was fun to drive Mommy and Daddy crazy with all the giggling and squealing for a few hours!

Easter bunny, and we made cookies!

We went to Sam's Club today and there was an Easter Bunny there.  I ran right over and jumped up on his lap.  Fortunately they were taking pictures for donations to a charity, so they got a picture of my big grin!

Mommy had a great idea and we made some cookies.  I was a big help, and poured the flour in the mixing bowl.  Oops!  It went "poof" and a little bit got on my face!

Daddy mowing

Today Daddy finally had to mow the lawn for the first time this season.  I thought this was just fine, until I saw him mow over some beautiful flowers!  He went right over the dandelions!  I thought this was horrible and started crying.  Mommy tried to comfort me but I was inconsolable.  I was very sad!

When he was done, Daddy showed me how if the dandelions were little short ones, the mower went right over them and didn't cut them at all.  I thought this was pretty neat and started pointing out all the short dandelions that he couldn't mow.  I felt much better then!

Lluc's 2nd birthday party!

We went over to my friend Sophia and Lluc's house today for Lluc's 2nd birthday party.  The three of us had a great time doing all kinds of fun activities.  One of the first things we did was decorate Easter eggs.  This was my first time doing this, and I thought it was neat to dip the eggs in all the different colors.  I was quite focused.

My hands got pretty messy!

Later on, we decorated our own birthday cupcakes.  I think I used up most of the sprinkles on mine.  Yum!

We got a mattress for my top bunk!

I've been sleeping great on the bottom bunk of my new bed, and today Mommy and Daddy got a mattress for the top bunk.  It came in a box all rolled up, and I thought it looked like great fun to climb on.  I pretended it was a horse and named it Pegasus, which was no real surprise to Mommy and Daddy, since I learned Pegasus was the flying horse with wings!

But then we unrolled it, and it was even more fun.  I jumped up and down on it as high as I could, and even landed on my bottom a few times.  It was great!  I was a little sad when Daddy said it was time to put it on the bed.

Kite Flying!

It was a nice windy day today, so Daddy and I went outside and flew a kite!  It was really easy to get it up in the air, and I was able to hold onto it all by myself.  It went so high we ran out of string!

Unfortunately, as I was holding it, Daddy came up and touched my arm.  It tickled!  And I let go of the kite!  Daddy took off running super fast after it, and almost caught the string a few times, but couldn't quite get it.  It got caught way up in the tall trees on the left side of the picture above, too tall for Daddy or anybody to get.  I was very sad about it and started crying.  But when Daddy got back, he told me it was no problem, we would go out and buy another kite, and I could pick it out.  That made me feel better.  The kite is going to be up in the tree for a long time!

Daddy's hair

I was walking down the stairs behind Daddy this morning, and I felt he needed to know something.

"Daddy, some of your hair's coming off!"  And then I pointed to the top of his head, "Right there!"

Mommy thought this was really funny, especially since Daddy thinks it's funny that I keep saying she's 90.  Daddy laughed a little, but not quite as much as Mommy!

I can swing by myself (sort of)!

Mommy and Daddy BOTH came to pick me up from school today, as Mommy is working on this side of the base this week.  I was outside in the playground when they showed up.  When I saw Mommy, I excitedly yelled “Look what I can do Mommy!” and ran over to the swings.  The swings here are lower to the ground than in most playgrounds, and I’ve discovered I can kick off the ground to make myself swing.  I had the biggest smile on my face as I showed Mommy and Daddy how I don’t need a push anymore!

Car Show!

It's car show time again!  Fortunately Dayton has one too, and I have been excited to go all week.  The last two years I've had a great time looking and climbing in all the new shiny cars.  Since Mommy and Daddy are looking for a new car this year, it was a good time to go.

I had Mommy put my hair into two ponytails, and I wanted some big pretty bows in them too.  I'm all ready with my backpack for the drive!

I had a great time driving!

And I usually remember to wear my seatbelt, too.

What really surprised Mommy and Daddy was that even though I got in the front seat of a lot of the cars, I got in the back seat of just as many if not more.  I knew that's where I ride, so I needed to make sure it was nice!

I liked this cargo van.  I could stand up in the back and tried to jump before Daddy stopped me.

Dora and Boots came to visit!  Once I saw her I ran right over and gave her a big hug.

Hey, my balloon went through the sun roof!

It was a great car show, and after we left we went to lunch at Chick-Fil-A, where they have an indoor playground.  I think Mommy and Daddy were trying to wear me out!  When we got home they had another surprise for me.  A Sesame Street computer program like they have at the library!  I'm getting pretty good with using the mouse and like learning with Elmo and Big Bird and everyone else.

Finally, a new "big-girl" bed!

This is me sleeping last night in my bed.  I've been getting too big for it for a while now.  Look at where my feet are!

Finally, today the new bed Mommy and Daddy ordered for me came in!  It's a bunk bed so I can have friends over.  I was very excited by all the shipping boxes (6 of them) and knew that Daddy was going to need his big helper like always!

He knows I love counting things, so he set me right to work making sure it came with the right number of different screws.

Soon it started to really look like a bed!

Mommy gave me a shower while Daddy finished up the last few parts.  And when I came into the room, I ran right up the stairs to the top!  Silly bed, there's no mattress up here yet!

But they did get one for the bottom already, and I crawled right in and did what I like to do, hide.  Where's Piper?  I picked out the sheets and comforter this past weekend at Sears!

I wanted to sleep with Daddy's friend Teddy, and he said okay.

But I didn't want to go to sleep yet, I was too excited!  I was awake a long time, but eventually wore myself out and slept really well.  I like this new bed!

Birthday party, the playground, and a surprise!

What a fun-filled day today was!  My friends Zoe and Mia celebrated their birthdays today, and had a big birthday party with lots of kids over.  We started out doing some crafts while we waited for everyone to show up.  I was really focused on making a necklace with these beads, even when they all fell off a couple of times.  I just picked them back up and started again.  Determined!

Then we all went outside and it was time for presents, lots of play, and cupcakes!  I decided the sun was a little too hot on this 57 degree day, so I cooled off under their little umbrella.

We all did a lot of running around.  Four of us girls even chased Daddy around some.  We eventually got him!  Mommy said Daddy's a real ladies' man.

Then Mia joined me under the umbrella!

A rope in the back yard inspired an impromptu game of tug-of-war.  Daddy helped us, and although we didn't win, we sure did giggle a lot!

Then it was time for cupcakes.  I dropped whatever I was doing and ran right over.  Yum!

After some more play, Daddy and I wanted another cupcake.  We decided to share it.  I didn't really want to, but then Daddy had a funny idea - he'd eat the bottom and I'd eat the top.  That sure sounded good to me!  Notice how intently I made sure he didn't get any of the icing!

It was a great party, but pretty soon it was time to leave.  But it was still a beautiful day, so we decided to stop and play at the YMCA playground right around the corner from their house.  We hadn't played here before since it has been some cold this winter.  It was a pretty big playground, and we ran all over.  I spent a long time on the swings, asking Daddy to keep pushing me higher and higher.  We scared Mommy!  Then I wanted Daddy to swing by himself, and told him to go super high.  He sure did!

Earlier I had seen a surprise Mommy had for me in the trunk of her car.  I was pretty excited about it, but she told me if I was really good today, I could have it when we got home.  And I was great all day!  It's a set of seven Disney Princess dolls!  I love them and they are definitely getting a lot of use!

Playing at the playground with Daddy

When Daddy came to pick me up from school today, we were outside playing since it was surprisingly nice and warm for a March day in Ohio.  He didn't see any reason to take me right home, so we stayed a while longer and kept playing!  I got to introduce him to some of my friends, and we had a great time.  We even played "tag" a little.  But after a few minutes, I said to him:

"Daddy, I’m worn out playing tag.  Let’s play chase instead."

Silly Daddy didn't know the difference!

A new Piper-size chair!

I walked by Daddy's office today, and out of the corner of my eye saw a new little fold-up chair right next to Daddy's big recliner.  "Is that chair for ME?" I excitedly asked Daddy.  He wondered how long it was going to take me to notice (Mommy bought it yesterday and they unfolded it after I went to bed).  It didn't take me too long!  Daddy told me Mommy bought it for me, and I was very polite and thanked Mommy right away for the neat chair.  It's just my size!

We had Zoe and Mia over today!

Since we went over there last week, we thought it would be nice to have Zoe and Mia over to our house today.  We invited Sophia and Lluc, but they couldn't make it.

Of course, the first thing we did was play dress-up and came back downstairs wearing pretty princess dresses.  We also did a lot of fingerpainting and didn't even get any on our dresses.

We had such a great time, I was very sad to see them leave.  In fact I kept telling Mommy and Daddy how "When they leave, I am SO sad!"  I really do like having friends over!

Two more recent Piper quotes

Daddy couldn't stop laughing at this one:

"Daddy, in how many weeks will Mommy turn 90 again?  I forget."

But he really loved this one:

"Daddy, I love you.  Because I think you're the most good Daddy in the world!"

Lots of fun this weekend

On Saturday, Zoe and Mia's parents invited us over for dinner, and on Sunday Sophia and Lluc's parents invited us over for the afternoon.  So it was a great weekend playing with my friends!

Daddy and I got to be a little silly too.  He wanted to put a curtain up between the living room and the dining room, which he is using as his office.  We happened to have the purple curtains from my bedroom in Oklahoma, so he put those up until he got something else.  I think they're great fun to run through and hide behind.  Daddy and I were being silly and peeking at Mommy too!

At church today my teacher gave us all a strawberry plant potting kit that included the seeds, soil, and a little flower pot.  I was very excited to put them all together with Mommy's help.  Look at how tiny the seeds are!

I put it in a front window so it would get a lot of sun.  I hope it starts growing soon!

I made a pretty drawing for Grandma and Papa Roslewski

I was having fun drawing, and made a pretty one that Daddy and I put in an envelope and sent to Grandma and Papa (and Shadow) Roslewski!  Daddy told me how to spell their names, and gave me a few hints on how to write the letters, but he didn't touch the crayons once.  He was very proud of me!
