Play-doh. And a hat!

Today I got all dressed up for church. I liked the hat that went with my dress and put it on right away by myself!

Then of course I had to round out my look with a jar of Play-doh, which has recently become my favorite toy. I know how to say "Play-doh" really well!

I still don't like to have my hair done, though, which is why it's a little crazy.

A hat!

I really do like hats. Can you tell? This one used to be Daddy's, but now it's mine. Thanks Daddy!

Flossing with Mommy and Daddy

Tonight after I got in my pajamas we all went to the bathroom to brush our teeth. I don't usually cooperate much when Daddy tries to brush my teeth, although I am fascinated by the toothpaste tube and keeping trying to screw the cap on and off. Sometimes I'm even successful. Tonight was no different!

But after Daddy was done attempting to brush my teeth while I help my mouth tightly closed, he went on to brush his teeth. Seeing that he wasn't watching me quite as closely as he should, I grabbed the dental floss and got about 3 feet unreeled before he caught me. I'm pretty sneaky!

So at that point we cut some off for Mommy and they let me go ahead and use the rest. (What else are they going to do, tell me I can't floss and practice good dental hygiene?) Am I doing a good job or what?

Visitors from Kansas - Jen and Bryan Stokes

Today we had some very special visitors. Jen, one of Daddy's friends from college, and her husband Bryan. Jen had been at Mommy and Daddy's wedding, and they had gone to Jen and Bryan's wedding in 2005, but that was the last time they'd seen each other. And that means they'd never met me, of course! Jen and Bryan happened to be passing through town on their way back from visiting family and stopped over for a few hours. I got to show them what a big girl I am and we had a nice time. When they left I kept waving "bye-bye" and didn't want to go back inside!

Here I am with Jen, Bryan and Daddy.

Very sick today

I wasn't feeling so well today. In fact, Mommy had to come get me and take me home early because I was running a fever at day care and wasn't eating. I even threw up on the way home. Mommy gave me some Tylenol, which helped the fever, and some anti-nausea drops which calmed my tummy down some. She called the doctor and they said to give me lots of liquids but no milk and no food at least for the rest of the day. Hah! I wasn't going to have any of that, and let Mommy know how much I wanted milk until she finally gave in! I drank it right on down and then asked for some food, which I ate right up too. Didn't throw any of it up, either, I was hungry! I felt so much better even by that evening that the rest of the day was pretty normal.

What do the doctors know, anyway, huh? Yay for doctor Mom!

Traveling Companion

In the mornings before going to day care, Mommy lets me choose a traveling companion to go with us to the base. This morning Mommy and Daddy had no idea why I ran off to Daddy's office when I had a whole family room full of friends to pick from. I hadn't seen Billy in a few days (as I'd left him in Daddy's office when I was playing in there this past weekend). I wanted to make sure he knew I hadn't forgotten about him.
Don't I look cozy and all bundled up for the cold weather?

Finally got to see Grandma and Grandpa Roslewski again!

It's been a long time since I've seen Grandma and Grandpa Roslewski, since Christmas! One thing or another kept getting in the way of them coming down here or us going up to see them, but finally they were able to make it today. We had a great time, and I got to show them what a big girl I've become in the last couple of months! I said all kinds of new words for them (like "Pa-pa" for Grandpa, though I haven't quite figured out "Grandma" yet, much to her dismay), and showed them some of my new skills. Like art! Here I am showing Grandpa the finer points of crayons.

I also had a lot of fun playing "Row, row, row your boat" with Grandma and also "Patty-cake", for which I'm still trying to figure out all the hand movements. But I got a lot of practice with her!

I got to see their dog Shadow too, which I always like. Shadow likes it when I feed her snacks, and I'm getting very good at it (I know which ones are hers and don't try to eat them myself)!
Thanks for coming by Grandma and Grandpa, I hope to see you again soon!

I Like the Shiny Red One!

What an exciting day we had today! We went to the Oklahoma City International Auto Show. Daddy didn't think we'd need a camera because what would be cute about me looking at new cars? It's a good thing Mommy remembered how cute I was at the Home and Garden Show and didn't have a camera for that. Mommy figured there was a strong likelihood that I'd do something cute. I didn't want to disappoint her!
When we walked into the first building I was immediately drawn to the red cars. It didn't matter what the make or model was, I liked "the shiny red one"! I didn't want to "drive" the blue cars, white cars or black cars. I wanted to test out the red ones!
Here I am in the Mazda 6. At the rate I'm growing, it will just be a couple more years until I can actually see over the dash board!

One thing you should know about me is that I'm pretty observant. I know the door needs to be closed in order to drive. So here I am giving Mommy the signal to close the door so I can start driving.

When Daddy would get in the passenger seat, I'd let him know he should close the door before I resumed driving. See how responsible I am? I'm already showing I should get the "good driver discount" once I get my license!

Trouble getting to sleep

After our crazy week last week, I think my sleep schedule is still not where it used to be. Before we went to Arizona, Mommy and Daddy would sing to me, lay me down in bed, and I'd wave "bye-bye" and quietly go to sleep. But since coming back, I have had a much more difficult time, getting really fussy when they lay me down unless one of them has held me on their shoulder and rocked with me for a few minutes. We all hope I can get back on schedule soon!

I'm so fashion conscious!

This week I have become much more selective in my wardrobe. Maybe it has something to do with spending all last week with Aunt Nicole! Daddy was getting me ready for bed tonight, and asked me which pajamas I wanted to wear. He held up the first set, to which I said "no". He held up a second set, and I said "no" again. But the third set, the one with the sleeping doggy dreaming of a bone, was the one I wanted, so I grabbed ahold of it! He had no idea that I'm already developing an opinion on my wardrobe. I'm getting to be such a big girl!
