We got our shed!

Daddy is very happy today, because we finally got our shed!  That means we could move all the yard equipment from the garage into the shed and free up a lot of space.  Daddy didn't waste any time - the shed builders had been gone for only about an hour when he and I started moving things in!

I was a big help and carried lots of things all by myself.  And since I was such a big help, Daddy let me ride on the dolly each time he pulled it back to the garage.  I thought it was great fun!

Splash park

There's a place near us that has a bunch shops and restaurants where we've eaten before.  And last time we noticed they have a fountain that kids can run through!  They also have live music on the weekend evenings, so tonight we went there with Zoe and Mia and had a great time running through the water!

4-year checkup

I had my 4-year-old doctor's checkup today, and everything looks good.  I am now 43.5 inches tall, and 41.5 pounds.  I keep growing!

Goodbye Grandma and Papa!

We've really had a lot of fun together, but it's time for Grandma and Papa to head back to Oklahoma.

I gave Grandma a super big hug.

I gave Papa a super big hug too, but then made it a super silly hug!

As they were backing their car out of the driveway, I got really sad that they were leaving and needed one more big hug.

I really missed them and had a hard time falling asleep.  But I was so glad they were able to make the drive out and spend the long weekend (and my birthday!) with us.  It has been far too long since I last saw them, and I hope to see them again soon!

The playground

Grandma and Papa were going to leave later today, but I wanted to make sure I got in as mucch last minute playtime as I could!  So Grandma, Mommy, Daddy and I went and played at the local playground!  Grandma tried to join me in the red car.  Silly Grandma!

Grandma and I have always liked swinging together.  At first I wanted to hold onto her with a big hug.

But once we got going, we really got going!

I've been practicing on this spinning, hanging thing a lot and am getting really good at it.  Daddy is continually surprised at how strong I'm getting.

We all hid in the tunnel from Mommy!

It was a silly time, and I'm glad I got to play outside some more before they left!

Nature Walk

Today I wanted to show Grandma and Papa the Beavercreek Nature Area that we have enjoyed exploring several times in the past month.  We had a great walk through the woods, even though we didn't see as much wildlife as normal.  I think the beavers and frogs and snakes were all hiding.  But I liked holding Grandma and Papa's hands as we walked!

Along the way, Grandma Bunny called and I got to talk to her for a while as we walked.  I felt so grown up!

Later today, Papa tried to cover me with balloons.  We were being super silly!

I am 4!

For months now, I have been telling everyone that I have a birthday coming up.  And it's finally here!  I've been excited all week.  We had a party with my friends (Zoe, Mia, Shobhana, Tori, and Alex) and were able to eat and play outside since it was so nice.

Mia was the first to get here.  She had a soccer game later on so she got here early for more play!

We had lunch outside, but I wasn't really interested in lunch.  I knew what was coming next, dessert!  I had the type of dessert all picked out weeks ago - cupcakes with princess rings on them.  The number "4" on my cake is the same one we used for Mommy's birthday back in December.  Fun!

Mommy brought out my first present earlier than the others, for good reason.  It was a two-person slip-and-slide!  All of us had a lot of fun on this and played for a long time.

Then it was on to presents!  Now that I'm 4, I know all about presents, and was pretty excited to open them up.  I got a lot of great gifts.  Barbies, Princess and mermaid toys!

Mommy bought a bunch of balloons and a hand pump to make balloon toys with.  Of course I asked Daddy if he could make something.  Everybody wanted something!  Daddy quickly figured out how to make flowers, swords (which looked a lot like flowers turned around), and even a silly "halo" hat for me.  We all loved them!

Too soon it was time for all my friends to leave.  But Grandma and Papa didn't have to yet!  I really wanted to dance, so we turned on some music and got to it.  Papa sure is a good dancer!

And so is Grandma!

Naturally, I wanted to show them how Daddy and I dance.  We love scaring Mommy!

What a great day.  I'm already talking about when I turn 5!

Boonshoft Museum

Today I got to show Grandma and Papa around the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton.  But first, Daddy caught Papa and me red-handed playing ball inside!

We headed to the Boonshoft and I rna all around showing them what there is to do.  Grandma tried to join me on this little horse.  Silly Grandma!

They have an area where I could pretend to work at a grocery store or a pizza place.  I love this part.  I was very eager to help Grandma check out of the deli!

Why does Daddy like to tickle me so much?

We sure had fun and didn't even get to see everything!

First shower without an earplug!

Tonight Daddy gave me a shower, and it was a big deal since I didn't have to wear an earplug!  I was pretty happy about this and kept reminding him with a big smile on my face that I didn't need one anymore.

Grandma and Papa are here!

I've missed Grandma and Papa Roslewski very much since we left Oklahoma.  I haven't seen them since Thanksgiving, but today they arrived just in time for my birthday!  They called when they were pretty close, so we were outside waiting whhen they pulled up.  I was very excited and Daddy had to hold me back so I didn't run in the way of their car.  But when it stopped I ran right over to give Grandma a BIG hug!

Then I realized Papa needed some love too, so I gave him a bunch of hugs and kisses!

I love Grandma and Papa very much and am very glad they're here.  I know we're going to get to play a lot together the next few days.

We went out to eat for dinner, and nearby there was a water fountain with a lot of other kids playing in it.  I wanted to join in, and quickly took my shoes off and ran right over.  I got super wet!

Fortunately, Mommy had a nice warm sweater with her, and though it may be a little big for me, it was super cozy!

Daddy's work picnic

Daddy's organization had a picnic today and he brought me along!  Mommy joined us for a little bit too.  It was at the recreational area on the base, called "Bass Lake".  I got to run around and play a lot with the other kids, and had a great time.

I "learned" how to play a new game called "cornhole" where you try to throw the bean bag into the hole.  I did pretty good at this range!

There were some fire trucks there for us to see, and after a while they started spraying water all over us kids.  There was a lot of water, it was like a giant sprinkler!  So I ran right over.

Get ready!

And here it comes!

All of the kids also had an impromptu turg-of-war.  It was boys versus girls and we tugged each other all over the park.  I did at one point come running up to Daddy to tell him that "the boys aren't sharing", but once he let me know that was the whole point of tug-of-war, I caught right on!  A few times Daddy helped the boys, and a few times he helped us girls!  I certainly was trying hard to win.

Ear doctor appointment - no more earplug!

I had a follow-up appointment with the ear doctor today to see how well my right ear was healing after the removal of the ear tube about a month ago.  She said it looked great, and the most exciting news was that I no longer will have to wear an earplug when I go in the water!  It has been over 3 years now since my first ear tube surgery, and I will finally be able to go swimming or take a shower without first putting in an earplug!  I was very excited about this and couldn't wait to tell Mommy.

Helping Mommy and Daddy

I do love being a big help for Mommy and Daddy.  Today I helped Daddy out by putting the license plate on our new car.

And since it was nice outside, Mommy decided to do a little weeding.  I wanted to help!

Look at all the dirt on this silly weed!

Planting some new trees

Mommy received some free saplings as part of a "green" promotion the other day, so Daddy and I decided to plant them today.  Since we don't own the house here, we planted them in big pots to see how well they would grow.  When I saw that Daddy got out the "little" shovel, I let him know that it's MY shovel, his shovel is the big one!  He thought that sounded okay to him, and let me do most of the shoveling.  First we filled the pots with dirt, and I got to help by smoothing it out.

Then we dug a little hole and planted the trees.  We know which one is Daddy's and which one is mine!

Sometimes it's fun getting dirty!
