Does it get much cuter than this?

Daddy doesn't think so!

I finally got it!

Well after days of trying, I finally got that elusive remote control. I even sometimes figure out how to turn the TV on with it, which surprises Mommy and Daddy. I am getting really good at pulling myself up to standing, and do it as much as I can!

How about a picture of me crawling?

No video yet, but here I am crawling over to see Mommy. You will notice that I'm bringing my doll with me - pretty clever, huh?

What a busy reader I am!

Mommy put all my books on the bottom shelf so I can get at them easily. But sometimes I just can't make up my mind which one I want to read!

I was very cute for Daddy today. He was standing up next to my play mats, and I crawled all the way over to him, looked up at him, smiled, and said "Eh", which he properly interpreted as "Daddy, please pick me up." So he did! I love Daddy!

I'm clapping now!

Today I learned how to clap! Daddy and Mommy have been helping me clap for a couple of months now, singing songs like B-I-N-G-O and I've thought the clapping was the most fun part. Well today I showed them by clapping all by myself, for no reason at all other than I was laughing and happy. And just to prove I could do it, I did it again as both of them watched. It's fun!

Sleeping on Daddy

Now I've come up with some pretty weird sleeping positions in the past, and Daddy thought this one was right up there with the rest of them. I was tired!

Over the river and through the woods...

To Grandmother's house we went! We drove up to Tulsa today to visit Grandma and Grandpa Roslewski. It had been a long time since we had gone up there to see them, but I was ready for the long drive in my NEW car seat! That's right, I did get a new car seat since I outgrew my other one. It's big and comfy and I slept most of the 2 hour drive.

When we got there Grandma and Grandpa were very happy to see me, and I couldn't wait to show them all my newfound abilities! I got to crawl and babble and roll over and try to pull myself up on everything. It was quite fun. And they have carpeted floors, so it was really nice crawling around (we have hardwood floors at home).

Here I am playing with Grandpa on the floor.

And here I am reading a good book with Grandma.

Did I mention we were also celebrating Daddy and Grandpa's birthdays? It had been the first time we've been together since then so we went ahead and had cake and presents! They managed to blow out one candle together. I was so proud!???

After all this excitement, it was time to take a nap. I love cuddling with Grandma!

It was a great day, and I can't wait to see Grandma and Grandpa again very soon!

Another few inches...

...and I'll have that remote! Mommy says I definitely have some of Grandpa Stoller in me!

I will tell you, it's pretty tiring doing all this crawling. Sometimes you just can't quite make it to bed before falling asleep. Daddy was nice and pulled my leg out from under me. I didn't even notice!

What's this "low crawl" business? That's for babies!

And it's not for me anymore. This evening I found yet another new skill of mine - high crawling! No more of this slithering along on the ground for me, I took two full steps forward in the high crawl position. It's a little tough right now, but I'm going to keep practicing to get better.

No video yet, though. Maybe soon!

Sitting up by myself? Hey, that was easy!

Wow it has been an exciting week of learning to do new things! Today I figured out that if I was on all fours, I could simply lean backwards a little and be sitting up in no time. So now I can roll over, get into a sitting position myself, and even pull myself to standing sometimes. Look out Mommy and Daddy, here I come! I surprised Daddy with my newfound abilities, and when I saw how proud of me he was, I promptly fell forward on my tummy and gave him a repeat performance.

I keep babbling, and by far my favorite word is Da-da. Daddy loves it! (And I think, secretly, Mommy loves it too!)

Crawling, talking, and getting into a sitting position by myself all in 7 days. Whew!

I've outgrown my car seat!

Believe it or not, I've already outgrown my car seat. It (like most other infant seats) works up to 22 pounds or 28.5 inches. And right now I'm about 20 pounds and 28.5 inches! My feet have started dangling over the edge. I'm a tall girl! So Mommy and Daddy are looking at options for the "convertible" seats that will last until I am around 50 pounds.

Just look at how much I've grown in the last 8 months!

At age 2 (days):

Today (8 months):

Can you believe how much I've grown? Mommy and Daddy sure can't!

And MORE BIG NEWS! "Da-da" maybe?

I really started babbling today. Daddy was changing me and I started in with a whole string of la-la-ma-ga-da-da-la-ga... "Wait a minute," Daddy said, "what was that in the middle? Sure sounded like Da-Da to me!" So he took me in to where Mommy was, and after a while I started up again. She heard it too!

So then of course they tried to record it my babbling. I dutifully played along as a good daughter and kept it up. See what you think, I bet you can't convince Daddy that there isn't a da-da in there somewhere!

(Of course, he thinks I said Da-Da first because I love him more. Really, Mommy, I don't, I love you too!)

See, I really can crawl!

Just to prove it, I had Daddy take another video today. I was rested and fed and ready to get down to some serious crawling action. Look at me go!

BIG NEWS! I can crawl!

What a tiring day today has been. I figured out how to crawl! It's just a "low crawl" now, but I am making forward progress instead of just heading in reverse like I have been for a while. Needless to say, Mommy and Daddy were VERY excited to see my new skill, and had me do it over and over again. (Well, mostly Daddy kept putting toys out of my reach. Mommy's nicer than that!) I got good and tired, I tell you. It's tough work crawling around on your tummy! So, after I'm all tired out, Daddy decides that now he wants to get a video of me to post up here. By then, I didn't really want to play along anymore, but I tried because I'm a good daughter. Daddy got the video attached below, but then realized that, although I got the toy phone, I'm not really crawling after all, I'm just kind of stretching a little more. But he decided I should put it up here anyway, since it's cute. Don't worry, we'll try to get another video tomorrow to put up.

I also tried a new food today, apricots. They were pretty yummy! I ate them all up, no problem.
