And it's such a fun place to stick my fingers too...

I finally found them!
My nostrils that is! Daddy's been trying to tell me months how much of a coincidence it is that our fingers are sized just perfectly to fit in our noses. Mommy of course thinks Daddy's gross. But as I discovered today, sure enough, my right index finger fits just perfectly in my right nostril. Mommy and Daddy were having a good laugh as I found out just how far it would go. Sometimes I think they're just plain silly.

See? The good old days truly are over!
Just like I feared, the good old days are over now that I slipped up and showed Daddy that I know how to hold my own bottle. Now he's got me doing it more and more, and today, I had to feed myself most of my own bottle. I don't always have the angle down right, but a little help here and there and I can get it. Look at that smile on his face. If I didn't know better, I'd think he was laughing at my predicament!

Look at me, I'm standing!
Since I was only a couple of months old, Daddy's been having me try to stand up and support my own weight. Of course, I couldn't do it at first, but gradually I got stronger and stronger. For the last month or so I've been able to stand if Daddy or Mommy help me stand up, and the last couple of weeks I've been able to push myself into a standing position with my legs, if I'm holding on to someone. I'm really getting pretty good! If I have something to hold on to, I can usually stand for a few minutes at a time before I lose my grip or balance. Daddy and Mommy are very proud of me! (Of course, I guess next they're going to want me to stand WITHOUT holding on to anything. That sounds tough!)
I was being really cute standing in my crib today, so Daddy took some pictures.
And in case you think maybe I'm kneeling on something, here you go! :)
After all that standing, I sure was tired. Fell asleep right on Mommy and Daddy's bed while playing with my doll. Mommy thinks I may have been even more tired than on October 14th to fall asleep in this position!

He caught me feeding myself!
Well, Daddy caught me! I don't know how he knew, but he knew. You see, I haven't been holding my own bottles, because, to be perfectly honest, why should I hold my own bottle if someone is willing to do it for me? That's just plain silly! But Daddy tricked me today into revealing that, yes, I do know how to do it myself. He fed me the first couple of ounces, then pulled the bottle away! Big meany. Of course I got fussy, but instead of giving me back the bottle, he just set it on my chest, mere fractions of an inch from my mouth. Well, I was hungry alright, so I reflexively reached out with both hands, grabbed the bottle, and put it in my mouth. Only then to realize that I had given away my secret! Rats! I guess now that Daddy knows, he'll make me hold my own bottle a lot more. Oh, how I will pine for the good old days...

Mommy and Me

I have discovered my tongue!
For some reason, when I got home today, I decided to start sticking my tongue out. A lot! Daddy picked me up in "airplane" position and out it came, every time. I don't know what started this, but it sure is fun! I mean, I've licked things, sure, but never just stuck it out for no reason. Mommy and Daddy sure thought it was pretty funny!
And in other exciting news, I got my first sippy cup today. It'll take a little time to figure out how to use it, but I'm sure I'll be an expert soon enough!

Rolled over from my back to my tummy!
Today at day care I managed to roll over from my back to my tummy in the crib. I had laid down for a nap, but grabbed onto the bars of the crib and pulled myself over! As you might know, rolling over hasn't really appealed to me that much, so this was a big step. Mommy and Daddy are so proud!

First meat - turkey! Yum yum!
Tonight Mommy and Daddy fed me my first meat - turkey (with green beans). You know how much I like green beans, and this was even better! Mommy of course is a vegetarian, but Daddy (who eats anything and everything in sight) convinced her that they should introduce me to meats, and if later I decide I don't want to eat them, that will be my decision. I'm glad she gave in, because man was that turkey good! I can't wait to have some more! Yum yum! What's next? Hopefully ham or beef! Good eating I tell you! I can't get enough!
(Daddy wants to know if that's enough apparent excitement.)

Finally, Christmas came to our house!
Mommy and Daddy were finally feeling well enough today to have Grandma and Grandpa Roslewski come down from for the day, so we finally got to celebrate Christmas! It was nice having us all together, it had been a while since they had been able to come visit.
First off, Grandma surprised me with my very own stocking that she made herself. Thanks Grandma, and thanks for making it nice and BIG so it will fit lots of presents!
"The stockings were hung from the desk with care..." That's Daddy's stocking from when he was little, and Mommy's stocking that Grandma made a few years ago.
I don't know what's so funny, but Grandma, Grandpa and I are sure having a good laugh!
I want the big one! (It turned out to be new bedsheets for Mommy and Daddy from Grandma and Grandpa. How boring. But they seemed to like them!)
I got some really nice clothes to wear!
And some good books too! Here's Daddy reading "Blue Hat, Green Hat" to me. It's a really good book that I highly recommend!
I liked Christmas! Can we do it every day?

Two teeth!
Quickly following my first tooth, I gave an encore performance and now have TWO teeth, both of my bottom front ones. When I got my first tooth, I was a "little" cranky and didn't have much of an appetite. But not so with this one! This teething thing is old hat now!
Daddy tried to get a picture, but I just wasn't opening my mouth wide enough. He'll get one soon, I'm sure, sneaky guy!

Happy New Year!
I just wanted to wish everyone a happy New Year! Tonight we all went over to our neighbors Jim and Carol and I was a good little girl the whole time. I can be such a little darling when I want to, and fortunately for Mommy and Daddy I usually want to! We didn't stay the whole night though - instead, I decided to celebrate with Greenland and Eastern Brazil, going to bed at 9:00 Oklahoma time!
