I definitely laughed today!

Today was it, Mommy and Daddy say I definitely laughed today. Mommy was making funny faces and trying to tickle my feet, and I lit up with a big smile and a little laugh, followed by a happy squeal! Daddy was right there and saw and heard it too. I think my Mommy and Daddy sure are funny!

I'm really trying hard to hold my bottle

I usually get one hand on it, but that's about as far as I've been able to get so far. But I'm trying! One of these days I'll be able to hold my own bottle, I'm sure of it.

Sorry I haven't written more lately, but I've been so busy talking (my own language, of course) and I'm really smiling at everything and everybody now too. I'm quite a popular little girl whenever we go out!

My first State Fair

Today was the Oklahoma State Fair, and Mommy and Daddy took me there for the whole afternoon. I got to see (and smell) all kinds of new, interesting things. Like little baby chicks!

And horses! Although here I am much more interested in how my hand fits into my mouth. Mommy sure is silly!

We also went up in a really tall tower - about 300 feet! Mommy and Daddy were scared but I kept them safe. Look at how high we are.

Here we are in front of the "Arch". Daddy is trying to get me to look at the camera, but I am far too busy trying to figure out my toes. Note that Daddy seems to have forgotten where he put his razor. He claims he will shave again, "eventually".

I am 3 months today!

Today is my 3 month birthday, and boy was it a fun day. To celebrate, Daddy gave me some flying lessons!

I had a bath, and then Mommy and Daddy weighed and measured me. I am now 25 3/8 inches long and weigh 13 pounds 10 ounces. I'm growing fast!

What Daddy means by crazy hair

In case you were wondering what Daddy meant by "crazy hair", just look at me! This is what I looked like right after I woke up from a nap.

Both Daddy and Mommy right away thought of Doc Brown from Back to the Future. Do you see a resemblance? Yeah, me neither!

Daddy wrote a song about me!

Well, not a song really, just new lyrics to an old song. It is sung to the tune of "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong:

I hear Piper cry,
Real loud and strong.
I can't help wonder
What could be wrong.
But I think to myself,
What a wonderful girl.

I see crazy hair,
Cute button nose,
10 tiny fingers
and 10 little toes.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful girl.

The colors of the rainbow,
So pretty in the air,
But not quite as pretty,
As my baby lying there.

I see her, swinging arms,
Laughing, fussing too.
Just trying to say,
Daddy, I love you.

She'll grow up so fast,
Soon start to crawl.
It makes me glad,
I'll be here for it all.

And I think to myself,
What a wonderful girl.

And I think to myself,
Oh how I love this girl.

Thanks Daddy.

I'm a drooler!

Well I sure am. I think Mommy and Daddy laugh at how much I drool. But I'm just a baby! So I came up with some of my own mottos:

To drool or not to drool, that is the question.
To burp is human...to drool is divine!
Once a drooler, always a drooler.

Roses are red, violets are blue,
Drool is clear, and means I love you!

Drool is the window to the soul...
Desperate times call for desperate drool.
Drool is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter!

Mommy went back to work today :(

I suppose it couldn't last forever. Mommy had to go back to work today, having used a lot of leave to stay home with me for almost 3 whole months. I'm really glad she did; we had a wonderful time together! But she had to go back today. She was really sad but I smiled and so did she - I know she'll be back at the end of the day, and maybe I'll see her for lunch! Meanwhile, Daddy will be staying home with me for a while as he looks for another job. He recently got out of the Air Force due to the high deployment rate he was facing. He just wanted to be around Mommy and me more. I love my Mommy and Daddy!

Here's Mommy saying goodbye to me this morning.

Uncle Chad comes to visit

This weekend Chad DeNaughel, Daddy's best friend (and best man at Mommy and Daddy's wedding), came to visit. He was headed back to Hawaii from Virginia where he had been attending a training course and stopped through from Friday night until Monday morning. Daddy and Chad spent most of the weekend flying around Oklahoma, but I got to spend some time with him too!

My what a grip I have!

I am starting to grip things! Mommy and Daddy are pretty impressed. Of course, they're very easily impressed!
